PrepLotus ("we", "us", "our") provides an exam preparation app and services for competitive exam aspirants (UPSC, SSC, State PSCs, and similar). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and profile photo, provided by you when you register (directly, or via Google/Facebook sign-in).
• Usage information: tests attempted, scores, notes accessed, subscriptions, and other activity within the app, used to power features like progress tracking and mistake review.
• Device information: a device/notification token used to deliver push notifications.
• Payment information: if you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor (Razorpay). We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details ourselves.

How we use your information

• To create and maintain your account and provide app functionality (notes, tests, results, audio notes).
• To send notifications about new content, tests, or offers (you can turn these off in-app).
• To process subscription payments and manage your subscription status.
• To improve the app and diagnose technical issues.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited information with:

• Google Firebase - for push notifications and app infrastructure.
• Google / Facebook - only if you choose to sign in using those services, to authenticate your account.
• Razorpay - to process subscription payments.

Data security

Data is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time, either from within the app (Profile → Settings → Delete My Account) or via this page: https://coreadmin.preplotus.com/delete-account.

Once requested, your account is scheduled for deletion after a 30-day grace period (during which logging back in cancels the request). After that period, your personal data (name, email, phone number, profile photo) is permanently erased. Anonymized, aggregate usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.

Children's privacy

PrepLotus is intended for competitive exam aspirants, generally above the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will delete it.

Your choices

• You can update your profile information from within the app.
• You can turn off push notifications from within the app's settings.
• You can request account deletion at any time (see above).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
